Job purpose

We are looking for a candidate to join the team at BeFC to manage services and processes related to facilities & utilities that support core business activities.

Source and nature of management provided

Staff management responsibility

The post holder will be expected to assist in managerial duties alongside the management team to fulfill the role.

Special conditions

From time to time, the post holder may be asked to assist with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.

This will form part of a substantive role and no additional payment for these activities should be expected.

Main duties and responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have strong previous experience in a similar function demonstrating ability to ensure needs of the company and its employees are fulfilled.

1) Continually reviewing the needs of the organisation and setting priorities

2) Preparing documents to put out tenders for contractors and new machinery

3) Coordinate schedules, monitor contractor performance, and undertake cost analysis for facilities management and other project works

4) Investigate the availability and suitability of new premises

5) Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives

6) Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities

7) Coordinate and plan essential services such as security, health & safety, maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, and recycling

8) Ensure health & safety requirements are met and that facilities comply with applicable legislation

9) Plan best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings, or reorganization and/or refurbishment of current premises

10) Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement

11) Oversee machine delivery, maintenance and operational scheduling, with the aim of maximising up-time and efficient utilisation

12) Respond appropriately to urgent issues as they arise and deal with them in a timely manner, with the view to minimise their consequences

13) Management of utility supply and distribution (electricity, telephony, water, etc.)

14) Ensure that utility providers deliver services to the agreed service level

15) Review utilities consumption and strive to maximise efficiency

16) Assist in the maintenance of financial and non-financial records

Specification

Essential Qualifications/ Experience/ Attributes

Graduate from a related field (e.g., facility management, engineering, business administration)

Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role

Knowledge of health & safety regulations

Familiarity with professional standards, policies, and procedures

Ability to develop strong relationships and drive collaboration

Clear & concise writing skills and ability to handle long and complex documentation

Strong technical and project management capabilities

Meticulous

Organised and rigorous

Confident decision making

Impeccable interpersonal communication skills

Objective-oriented

Desirable Qualifications/ Experience/ Attributes

Relevant professional qualification(s)

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role

Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles

Understanding of English language, both written and oral
