We are looking for acandidate to join the team at BeFC to provide technical expertise in the areasof formulation, coating and printing technologies.
The candidate will beinvolved in internal/external R&D projects and associated in novelbioelectrodes and process development.
The post holder will be line managed by the R&D(Innovation) Manager and will work closely with team members across differentprojects.
A limited supervision of students may berequired, however there is no expectation from the post holder to perform staffmanagerial duties.
BeFCencourage and support the personal and professional development of our staff.Individual development needs will be identified through a regular reviewprocess.
Fromtime to time, the post holder may be asked to assist with ContinuingProfessional Development (CPD) activities. This will form part of a substantiverole and no additional payment for these activities should be expected.
The successful candidate will have a strongscientific interest and desire to develop expertise in formulation and depositionprocesses associated with enzymatic biofuel cells.
1) Material synthesis/functionalization
2) Dispersion and formulation associated with different printing processes
3) Implementation of processes at the laboratory scale and pilots
4) Material characterization (rheology, mechanical, surface tension, roughness, porosity, conductivity, ...)
5) Electrochemical characterization
6) Data analysis and processing
7) Creation of technical reports
8) Communication of findings
9) Compliance with statutory and company regulations/protocols
Graduate with an engineering or scientific background (Masters degree or equivalent)
Graduate from a Master’s degree program in Chemistry/ Polymer chemistry.
Skills in physico-chemistry of solutions
Experience in formulation (water based)
Experience in printing processes
Experience with material characterization (rheology, mechanical, surface tension, roughness, porosity, conductivity, ...)
