BeFC is a French DeepTech startup founded on decades of pioneering research at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) on biofuel cell technologies.
After incorporating the company in May 2020, BeFC raised a 3 M€ seed round in June 2020 to launch its technology on the market.
The company has since focused on the industrialisation phase from ramp-up to mass production, whilst refining the product-market fit for early customers.
We are now looking to consolidate and execute our go-to-market strategy in becoming the leader in organic energy solutions for disposable, single-use and single-patient products, whilst leveraging our expertise in developing ultra-low-power electronics.
BeFC technology is an enabler for the next generation of smart and sustainable connected devices. We are committed to executing our R&D roadmap in order to create new opportunities to extend the suitability of our products in new market segments.
As part of her role with BefC, she acts as a transition manager to support and structure the finance and accounting department.
At BeFC, Florian's key role is to manage the IP portfolio in order to ensure the freedom to operate of the company. His background will help him drive the IP roadmap based on product, design, and innovation developments of the team.
Aleksandrs leads the electronics development of our products. Specifically, he manages the hardware, firmware and software engineering. With his approach, BeFC aims to provide a diverse portfolio of capabilities with our electronic platforms whilst delivering on our company mission of low-cost and low-environmental impact electronic solutions.
As a CEO, Jules is focused on hiring talent to build an interdisciplinary team of problem solvers. He develops the strategy to guide the company towards its mission of replacing conventional miniature batteries with BeFC technology, to provide an eco-friendly and sustainable energy solution for low-power electronics.
Thomas looks forward to exploiting his experience to help shape the company’s facility management strategy at this important time in BeFC’s development.
Bilal is focused on delivering technical improvements through the use of innovative formulations, bringing state-of-the-art solutions to BeFC.

As CFO, Gilles manages all financial processes, protecting financial health of the company, making sure that management and shareholders have accurate information and ensuring that financial culture is spread across the company. He is also in charge of defining with Dr. Jules HAMMOND and Prof. Jean-Francis BLOCH the strategic roadmap of the company.
Jean-Francis delivers and encourages the highest standards of administration and compliance, whilst maintaining and developing institutional relations. He also leads our public funding applications.

We have put together a highly experienced and complementary international advisory board with expertise in scaling disruptive technologies and DeepTech companies.
